Boys Soccer Battle Back For Stalemate Against Normal West

By Don Collins

BRADLEY, Illinois - The Bradley-Bourbonnais High School boys varsity soccer team tied with Normal West on Saturday (Sept. 22) by a final score of 2-2.

Normal West scored the first goal of the afternoon with 34 minutes left in the first half. The Boilermakers would answer back with a goal from Pete Sorich at 25 minutes and 30 seconds left in the half to tie the game at one. That would be the score at halftime.

After the break, the two sides dug in defensively and the game went scoreless until a Normal West goal at 24:38 left in the game. Shortly later, Tyler Schiltz scored a goal with 22:38 left. The game-tying goal was assisted by Jack Jasmin and represented the final scoring play of the afternoon.

“Feels good to finally be back after being out three weeks. The goal felt good. I saw Jack, he played me the ball. It was a perfect ball and I saw the keeper out of the corner of my eye and I knew I just had to get a tip over it.” -- Tyler Schiltz on his goal.

“We just need to come out and play consistently. We’ve been playing close games and we let teams in and then have to crawl back in. We have to find a way to play a whole game and not try to play catch up.” --Coach Rohan Robinson
