BBCHS Football Falters Against Andrew

BRADLEY, Illinois -- The Bradley-Bourbonnais High School varsity football team lost to Andrew High School on Friday (Sept. 14) by a final score of 12-3. The team was unable to build on its 2-1 start to the season and now sits at 2-2 for the year.

 

The offense has yet to hit its groove this season and after opening a 3-0 lead with 4:26 left in the first quarter, they failed to score again on the night. The defense, led by 13 total tackles from sophomore linebacker Daniel Schultz, was able to hold the Andrew offense to 10 points in the game (two points came from a safety).

 

OFFENSIVE NOTES

  • RB Isaiah Nwokenkwo led the offensive rushing attack with 120 yards on eight carries.
    • Nwokenkwo has 365 yards on the ground this season with one touchdown
  • QB Keaton Schmidt was 6-for-16 in the air for 55 yards.
    • Schmidt contributed 13 carries for 95 yards.
  • WR Cameron Jain led the team in receiving.
    • Jain had 2 catches for 32 yards.

 

DEFENSIVE NOTES

  • LB Daniel Schultz led the team with 13 total tackles with six of them being solo stops.
  • DL Payton Meli had a team-leading two sacks.
    • The Boilermakers were able to bring down the quarterback a total of four times.
      • This performance marked the first time this season that the Boilers were able to bring down the opposing QB multiple times in a game.
  • DL Shale Johnson led the team with three tackles for loss.
    • The Boilers combined for a total of 12 TFL on the night.

  • BBCHS hosts Bolingbrook (3-1) on Friday, September, 21st. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
