Freshmen Final Reminders

Dear Parents/Guardians of the BBCHS Class of 2028,

The countdown begins! We are excited to share the following information with you regarding the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The information below contains important dates, so please be sure to mark these events on your calendar.

  •  If you have yet to register your student, please complete our online registration process ASAP. Please follow the steps on our website, linked here.

  • There will be an additional opportunity for freshmen students and their families to “Walk The Halls” of BBCHS: August 12-13 from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

  • Per State Code, all freshmen need to have current physical and immunization records on file in order to attend school. Freshmen without documentation submitted by the first day of school will not be able to attend school until it has been finalized. Please make your appointment soon to avoid the rush and delay your freshman’s entry on August 16. If your freshman is participating in fall athletics, the physical must be submitted by the first day of tryouts/practice. Physicals can be emailed (bpalmer@bbchs.org), faxed (815-937-8060), or dropped off at the Main Office during the week (8am-2pm).

  • The First Day of School for Freshmen will be Friday, August 16.  This is an early release day starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 1:10 p.m.  Bus transportation will be available for those who qualify. The freshmen will have the building to themselves, attend classes, and meet their teachers and classmates. Chromebooks will also be distributed to students on this day. If students were already issued a chromebook during summer school, please bring it with you.

  • If you think you may qualify, please fill out the free and reduced lunch application. For those who do not qualify for free lunch, lunch will be available for a cost, and parents can place money on the student’s myschoolbucks.com account. Point of sale cash is not accepted.

Welcome to BBCHS! We look forward to a great school year and years to come!

Dr. Evan Tingley, Principal
