State Standards
The curriculum is derived from State Standards. School code requires ISBE to establish grade-level goals snd learning standards that schools must adhere to. The standards define knowledge and skills students are expected to master each year. School Code requires districts to establish learning objectives aligned to these goals and standards. The District creates grade-level curriculum using a formal cyclical process to adopt new curriculum aligned to these goals and learning standards.
