Black History Month
February 1 marks the nationwide celebration of Black History Month. We are excited for this month at BBCHS as we take time to reflect on how black people have played an essential role in American History. The theme of Black Excellence was chosen as a focus to celebrate and learn about the achievements and contributions of black people. The legacy of Black Americans is one of tenacity, creativity, achievement, resilience, and faith.
As a school, our goal is to infuse the contributions and stories of the Black American experience throughout the year. However, in February we want to create an intentional spotlight on the historic accomplishments of black people and elevate black voices to share their contributions to the American story.
