Academically, Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School takes great pride in its nationally recognized Advanced Placement courses that placed BBCHS on the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll. This past school year (2024-2025), we just received the bronze category recognition for AP Honor Roll. This honor places us in the top 20% of high schools in Illinois. We also had the best AP scores on exams that we have ever seen at BBCHS! We had a record number of AP exams taken and passed, and we saw a 51% increase in tests passed from 2024 to 2025. Additionally, a variety of classes such as culinary arts, foreign policy, chemistry, career exploration, business, digital photography, foreign languages, economics, calculus, and athletic performance training foster academic success and enjoyment. The school’s comprehensive fine arts program cultivates students’ interest in music and art and has brought BBCHS great recognition as the Class AA State Music Champions.
BBCHS was named a Special Olympics Unified Champion School of 2024! This honor reflects our commitment to inclusion and our success in meeting 10 national standards of excellence, such as Unified Sports, Inclusive Youth Leadership, and Whole-School Engagement. Our Best Buddies program also earned Chapter of the Year for the 2024-2025 school year, and three of our students won awards: Chapter President of the Year and Buddy Pair of the Year!
High school students at BBCHS enjoy academics, athletics, and activities. More than 900 of BBCHS’ students are athletes. Sixty competitive teams in 27 sports have brought the school honor by capturing SWSC conference titles and numerous IHSA athletic event titles in an array of sports.
In the 2024-2025 school year, we had our inaugural girls flag football season, which ended in a trip to the State Finals and a 4th place trophy. Our boys football team also had a successful season, advancing to the quarterfinals in the state series! In the spring, our softball team made it to the Elite Eight in the State of Illinois.
