The Social Science department offers courses to encourage and support all students to become citizens in a democratic and global society.Whether students are college bound or preparing to enter the workforce after high school, we want our students to  acquire skills to make inferential and informative decisions about how actions and interactions among people and nations have led to the events of today. We encourage our students to look at the multiple perspectives that are prevalent in all layers of historical and social science topics. The Social Science department uses a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and narratives to facilitate our students’ understanding and to prepare them to contribute to and participate in the global community.

“The social sciences provide us with the knowledge to tackle the most pressing issues facing humanity.” – Margaret Mead
