2021-22 School Year
Online Learning Definitions
-
There are many reasons where non in-person learning might be necessary. This page is to provide guidance and definitions for different methods of online learning.
Remote Learning Asynchronous
-
This method is often used in relation to COVID-19 when a student is sent home for a positive case or as an identified close contact. Asynchronous learning expectations include students learning at home on their own time to complete assignments. There is not a specific time students are required to log on.
Remote Learning Synchronous
-
Synchronous learning includes instruction taking place with the teacher present virtually. Students are expected to follow a bell schedule identified by the district on a case to case basis, and log on at the time of their courses.
E-Learning
-
E-Learning is used in lieu of emergency days. This method is used in the case of a school closure, usually related to weather. E-Learning is synchronous and attendance is taken. E-Learning days are also on the early release bell schedule at 1:10pm. The full District E-Learning plan can be found here.
