Today we are introducing “Community Challenge Wednesday.” As we celebrate Black History Month, we want to provide tangible ways that our community can actively participate in together each week. For today’s challenge we are sharing a resource. "The Undefeated 44 Most Influential Black Americans in History." In keeping with our theme of Black Excellence, this link (also located below) will take you through each individual; a collection of dreamers and doers, noisy geniuses and quiet innovators, record-breakers and symbols of pride and aspiration. Today we are encouraging our community to take some time to educate ourselves and learn more about these people who have made such an impact in history. Click through the list using the arrow located on the right side.

For today’s Community Challenge Wednesday, we are asking our community to reflect on the same questions we have been asking our students, staff, and alumni throughout this month.
What does Black Excellence mean to you?
Who is someone that exemplifies Black Excellence to you?
Black Excellence is beautiful and so vast! Every student spotlight, every alumni spotlight, every teacher decorated hallway, they are all different. So today we are asking you to consider, what do these questions mean to you?

As we continue our Black History Month Celebration, today’s Community Challenge Wednesday we are sharing local black owned businesses. Not only do local businesses help bring the community together, but supporting black businesses also means supporting the black community. Today we are challenging and encouraging you to browse through this list of local Kankakee County businesses and find a way to support in whatever way feels appropriate to you and your family.
This website offers a variety of businesses and can be such a great resource for all of us! How will you be showing your support today? Our previous community challenges above can be a great place to begin as well!
