Physical Education

WELCOME TO THE BBCHS PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

Our Mission

To provide quality physical education that empowers all students to learn, develop and apply the skills needed for daily participation in fitness and lifetime activities.

MESSAGE FROM THE DEPARTMENT CHAIR: Bryan Smith

Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School is proud to offer a full continuum of special education programs and services to individuals with identified disabilities. Students have learning opportunities in the least restrictive environment with highly qualified teachers. If you have a concern with your teen’s academic progress, please contact your school counselor to discuss interventions to enhance your teen’s high school experience.

Our school has a long history of non-discrimination of students regardless of race, color, ethnic origin, sex or disability. BBCHS has embraced the Best Buddies Program which pairs individuals with disabilities with non-disabled peers to enhance social opportunities. We also have many students participating in general education activities and sports, as well as Special Olympics. The best thing about BBCHS is our students!!

Modified Physical Education Program

A modified physical education program will be made available to students who have limitations to the degree they cannot participate in a regular P.E. program.

These limitations need to be validated by the family physician and on file with the school nurse. Students will be assigned to activities that meet their special needs in the P.E. class in which they are enrolled. If a student is unable to participate, they will be responsible for completing written skill assessments and a written summative assessment.

BBCHS P.E. Uniform Requirements - (Boys and Girls) Uniform

Students are required to wear court-type athletic shoes, athletic socks and a BBCHS physical education uniform that is available at BBCHS. Uniform cost: $10 shirt, $10 shorts, and / or sweatpants $20.
