BBCHS and KCC have partnered together to offer dual credit classes to the students of BBCHS. With this partnership, BBCHS students are able to earn an Associate in Arts degree from KCC while still in high school.

Dual Credit Classes have been set up to

  • Satisfy requirements for both high school and college degrees at the same time
  • Transferable to any four-year college or university
  • End in time for participation in high school sports/activites

KCC is giving students a 10% tuition discount per credit hour for the two-year period at $132.30. You will still need to purchase textbooks and pay applicable lab fees. BBCHS is paying for $1200 per year, and payment will be made directly to KCC in association with the student's name.

BBCHS students will begin their school day at BBCHS and then go to KCC's Riverfront Campus for classes from 11am until 2/2:30pm. Classes will end in time for students to participate in high school sports and activities.

To enroll, students will need to meet course placement requirements. Students can use their SAT/ACT scores, or take KCC's Accuplacer or ALEKS tests.  KCC has online tools to help students prepare to take these tests. If students' scores need a boost, summer prep courses could help meet the college-level requirements needed before the start of fall.
