YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT
The Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School youth and government is a mock legislative session which allows students to create a bill for Illinois state law. They will support their bills in two pre-legislative conferneces and attempt to get it passed by the youth govenor. Also, an option for students to participate in is the judicial program where students attempt to go through the appeals process with a mock supreme court.
Eligibility Requirements:
All BBCHS students are eligible to join.
Time Commitment:
2-3 meetings at 20 minutes each.
Meets:
Pre-Leg I - 1st. Saturday of November.
Pre-Leg II - 1st. Saturday of December.
Fees:
$340 - includes hotel, some meals in Springfield, conference rooms, etc.
Procedure for Joining:
Initial informational meeting will have distribution of forms. The forms are submitted late September with 1st payment.
Membership Limit:
60 Students.
