Announcements to be read during second period: THursday, October 25th, 2012

All Students:

  • We are pleased to announce that the Bradley-Bourbonnais' varsity football playoff game Friday, October 26th at 7pm against Providence will be broadcast live on HighSchoolCube.com. If you are unable to attend in person, go to HighSchoolCube.com to watch the game. This broadcast will be streamed live on the Internet, iPhones, iPads, and Droid Devices. Highlight clips of the game will be available after the game so you can relive the action again and again! Go to HighSchoolCube.com to watch Friday’s game! (Mr. Lehning 10/26)
     
  • A few reminders from SAO…
    Hats are not permitted in school!  This includes berets, beanies, bandanas, and any other type of head covering.  Also, students are not permitted to leave the cafeterias during their lunch period for any reason. (T. Guerin 10/29)
     
  • FINAL REMINDER for ALL students: Make sure and bring your report card to the Main Lobby today during the lunch hours to claim your Academic Awards for all A’s, A’s and B’s, or if you raised your GPA by 1.0. Don’t forget to enter into our drawings for cash and many other prizes. (A. Hammond 10/25)
     
  • Do you have any new gently used winter outerwear items looking for a new home?  Tri-M Music Honor Society is holding its annual "Baby, It’s Cold Outside" Winter Clothing Drive now until November 15th.  There are barrels located in both lobbies.  Feel free to drop off jackets, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, etc. Donations will be given to the Salvation Army for those in need in our community.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!   • Students: If you did not pick up last year's yearbook, you may do so in the main office before/after school or during your lunch hour. A few extra books are available for $65 cash.   • Reminder to Juniors and Seniors who would like to be considered for a trip to Washington DC to witness the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, your application is due no later than Tuesday, November 2nd. You can pick up an application from any Social Science teacher. If you would like more information about what you will be doing on the trip, just go to www.workshops.org and look for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Seminar link. (G. Hyde 10/26)
     
  • Signups continue in the Nurse’s Office for anyone sixteen years or older wanting to donate blood. Our first blood drive is TOMORROW and we still have several spaces available.  REMEMBER – each time you donate, that blood may save 3 lives! Sign up in the Nurse’s Office today! (K. Bailey 10/25)

Seniors:

  • It's time to place Senior Tribute Ads in the yearbook. Tributes are a great way for parents, loved ones, relatives, and friends to mark this memorable year with photos and a special message. Forms are available in the main office, in Room W108, and on The Bradleyan Facebook page. Ads are due November 30th and are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The following Colleges will have representatives in the Counseling Office NEXT week:
  • Monday, October 29th – Lincoln College @2pm
  • Tuesday, October 30th – Eureka College @8am AND North Central College @9am
  • Wednesday, October 31st – Quincy University @9am
  • Thursday, November 1st – University of Illinois-Springfield @8am

Clubs:

  • Reminder to ALL Natural Helpers who wanted to order a t-shirt: The orders and money are DUE tomorrow to Mrs. LaDue in Room NN108 or Mrs. Stover in Counseling.  Also, be listening next week for announcements about the upcoming training on November 9th. (M. LaDue 10/26)
     
  • Art Club Members: Just a reminder that there will be an Art Club meeting TODAY after school! (C. Hosek 10/25)
     
  • Yo, Drama Club Stage Hogs: There will be an insanely "brief" Drama Club meeting immediately after school TODAY in Mr. Morgan’s Room E203. If you have cookie dough money OR Drama club t-shirt money…BRING IT ON! State Hogs represent! (S. Benoit 10/25)
     
  • NHS Members: TOMORROW is the very last day that you may order an NHS t-shirt. Order forms are outside Mrs. Kashanitz office in Counseling. Cost is only $10. Payment will be due at the November 8th meeting. (A. Kashanitz 10/26)

Sports:

  • Anyone interested in trying out for JV or Varsity competitive cheerleading:  Tryouts begin Monday, October 29th.  If you missed the mandatory parent meeting, please go see Coach Ghezzi to sign up in Room N118. You must sign up and be cleared through the Athletic Office in order to tryout! See you there! (B. Ghezzi 10/29)
     
  • Attention Wrestlers: There will be a wrestling clinic this Saturday, October 27th here at BBCHS. The cost is $20 and will take place from 10:30am to 2:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. The guest host will be Frank Beasley who is currently the Head Assistant Coach at North Carolina State University. He has coached over 30 D 1 National Qualifiers and multiple All-Americans in the past six years. The coaching staff encourages every team member to come to the camp. (A. Blahut 10/26)
     
  • The Boys Golf Awards Banquet will be held tonight at Coyote Canyon.  Start time is 6PM.  Cost will be $12 per person.  Please invite family! Varsity players need to turn in their golf bags that night. Check the BBCHS Boys Golf Facebook page for info. (B. Breeden 10/25)
     
  • It's time again for another season of Special Olympics Basketball! Want to have some fun? What to meet new friends? If you answer yes to one or both of those questions and have an IEP then come to the student/parent meeting this Saturday, October 27th in the south cafeteria from 11:00am -12pm. (D.   • Attention boys going out for Swimming and Diving: There will be an informational meeting after school today in the pool area starting at 3:05pm. Please plan to attend unless you are out for Varsity football. (S. Boudreau 10/25)

Non-School Sponsored:

  • REMINDER… that there is an informational Parent meeting tonight at 6:30 in Room S201 for those students planning to attend the Costa Rica trip this summer. If you are interested in the trip or need more information, please attend this meeting tonight!
