SOUP OF THE DAY: Cheesy Broccoli


All Students:

  • Registration for summer classes begins this Wednesday, February 1st.  All classes are filled on a first cone first serve basis.  Any student interested in taking summer courses for advancement or credit recovery should pick up registration information in the Counseling or Student Affairs Offices. Last year we had over 500 students enrolled in summer classes.  Don’t delay…get an early start and reserve your seat!  Registration information is also available on the school website under the academic tab. If you have questions about summer classes, please see Mrs. Limperis in SAO. (C. Limperis 2/3)
     
  • Current Natural Helpers and anyone interested in trying out for the talent show should come to a meeting in S204 TODAY, January 31st right after school.  We will be discussing audition requirements and dates.  We need singers, dancers, any unique talents and of course the coveted role of HOST.  Any questions see Ms. Kohl.   • The After-School Teen Social Group has been cancelled for tomorrow, February 1st. (J. Swank 2/1)
     
  • Claire is sitting in homeroom. Jasper is fast asleep. Peter is waiting for Tower Records to open. They don’t really know each other. Claire goes to school with Peter. Peter met Jasper at a party, and they made plans to go out. This is the everyday. This is the before. On 9/11, thousands of people died but millions came together in ways they never would have imagined. Stop by the library to check out Love is a Higher Law it’s another great Abraham Lincoln nominated book. (Mrs. Mills 1/31)
     
  • BBCHS along with Aeropostale will be collecting gently used JEANS through next Friday, February 10th. You may have heard something about this called "TEENS for JEANS!" All jeans will be donated to homeless teens. Please check your closets and bring in those jeans that you’ve outgrown! All donations should be dropped off to the Student Affairs Office.   • Winter Ball ticket sales CONTINUE all week in the Main Lobby during the lunch periods! Tickets are $25 - CASH ONLY.  No checks will be accepted!  Students bringing out-of-district guests may ONLY purchase theirs and their guest’s tickets this Thursday and Friday! Winter Ball will take place on Saturday, February 11th from 7-10PM at the Quality Inn in Bradley.  All students MUST have a valid picture ID and their ticket upon entering the dance, and the good-night rule is in effect.  Doors open at 6:30pm and there will be no entrance after 8pm.  We look forward to seeing you there!  Any questions, see Ms. Greene, Mrs. Fightmaster, or check the posters outside SAO or posted around the school!   • Senior Boys: REMINDER…Completed Winter Ball petitions are DUE back to Mrs. Fightmaster in Room S206 OR Ms. Greene in Room C203 by 3pm this Friday, February 3rd. (A. Greene 2/2)

  • REMINDER to all freshmen: Cookie Dough fundraiser forms are DUE in two weeks…Friday, February 10th. Stop by Room E111 if you have any questions or need additional order forms. SELL, Sell, sell….Your Prom is depending on your sales. (M. Blanchette 1/31)

Counseling Office: 

  • Attention Students registering for AP classes for the 2012-2013 school year: AP agreement forms are DUE back to the teacher TODAY! This is your first responsibility for the class.  Please meet this deadline on time and show your teachers you are a responsible young adult! (J. Parris 1/31)
     
  • The following colleges will have representatives in the Counseling Office this week:
    •    Tomorrow, February 1st – Blackburn College @8:30am.
    •    Thursday, February 2nd – The Art Institute @2pm.
    •    Tuesday, February 7th – Lincoln College @2om.
    Interested students should pick up a pass in the Counseling Office PRIOR to the meeting. (C. Amberg 2/1)

  • Signups for both JV and V Boys Tennis will take place tomorrow, February 1st immediately after school in the Main Lobby. *Please note* this is a change from 3:45pm and will no longer be in the south cafeteria. Sorry for the confusion. (Coach Gadde 1/26)
